Abstract: The application of a semi-automatic method to determinate the marc content in beet and pressed pulp is reported. Proceeding from a method for fibre determination in sweet sorghum, suitable extraction conditions are given for beet material, with particular reference to sample preparation by drying and crushing. Possible applications of the method, chiefly in connection with a drying technique, are also indicated.
